Memory Dilemma

Do you know what is this?

This is a harddisk drive.

The model of this Samsung SV2042H, nobody cares about the model.

I bought this harddisk drive 7 years ago and it has 20 gigabytes capacity.

20 gigabytes may sound very little by today's standard, but it still can save hell lot's of stuffs. An English dictionary complete with audio only takes up 0.8 gigabytes. So 20 gigabytes can store up to 25 equivalent dictionaries.

And that's is how interesting on human's technology 7 years ago.

So now, in 2008, our examination, surprisingly, is still relies heavily on our human memorising capability.

Like this Organic Chemistry paper,

Doesn't matter on which one, because essentially they all ask the same thing, "How good is your memory".

Seriously, if you can memorise all the craps, you score A. No big deal.

So what is the big deal if score A in these examinations?

Here I give you an extracted question from past year paper,

The answer is ethylene oxide. Ok, so if you can answer, does that mean you know that you know how to make this? Does that mean you can start open up a factory and start churning out ethylene oxide because you know the answer?

Let me give you another similar scenario,

Everyone knows about KFC made it's chicken with 11 secret recipes. So now you know how do they do it, can you start cook the same Finger Licking Good fried chicken?

You see, even if you got it right, that does not mean anything.

Just because you don't know how to answer, that doesn't mean you are stupid.

Even if you know how to answer, that doesn't mean you know how do actually do it.

I know you may say that I am a loser because I am basically whining, but I don't really care anymore because my memorising skill is a failure, thus I am already being labelled as a loser when I failed my paper.

And oh, by today's technology, you can get this,

This is a 500 gigabytes harddisk drive for only a mere RM300.
This is a joke when I spent RM30,000 to study in a university that tests my memorising skill when a RM300 object can do a much better job than most of us can. Unless if you are a savant.

You are a L-O-S-E-R!!!
Quit whinning and maybe your life is much more happier and merrier...

HAhaha...

Seriously. U r too damn uptight. Relax. Who does not know that Exam is just a memory test for the human. The one that remembers the most win. Those that barely remember anything goes to "tong sampah".

This is our education standard... exam oriented/memory-testing.

So stop whinning or u could just go into politics n change all this crap!!!

Hahaha... sorry 4 being 2 honest here... just trying 2 make u c that it's just a case of education in Malaysia... neither bad or good... coz it's deem to doom us with poor memory recall rates... like ME...
